Dear Parent

Karen and I hope you are all staying safe and well.

Following up on e-mail’s from parents that are unsure of the plan for the 1st June 2020 we felt it best to write to you with an update.

Our plan is to follow government guidelines and adhere to each step as advised; therefore we will go on the basis that the nursery will reopen on the 1st of the month, initially for children ages 3 – 4 years old , with younger age groups to follow. We aim to implement the “going back to work” rules that have been instructed by the government, but we must stress our concern with regard to the two-metre distance rule.

As you can imagine, keeping children of a young age at a distance from each other is impossible and the children and staff will naturally come into contact with each other. We are very concerned with regard to this and can only stress that we are possibly putting the children in danger of being exposed and potentially becoming infected with Covid 19.

With this in mind we would ask you all to contact us via e-mail and state if you wish your child to return from the 1st June 2020. We will implement an action plan and risk assessment. Naturally the guidelines do change, so we will act according to stringent government advice, therefore please be aware we may not be able to open on this date, should circumstance change.

We will need to be very accurate with ratio of staff to children; therefore we ask if you could inform us no later than the end of this week.

We will take all temperatures of the children upon arrival at nursery and, as prior to lockdown, if we consider for whatever reason your child is not well enough to attend nursery we will ask that you take them home.  Also we will require any child that develops a high temperature or any other symptom at Nursery to go home immediately.

With regard to lunches we will ask each parent to bring their child’s meal in for the day of attendance as we are concerned that the ordering of mass food may not be a possibility within the next few weeks due to lack of delivery slots online.

The children will require their food to be labelled, taking extra care to please not add nuts due to our severe allergen children.

Please e-mail to your nursery e-mail address and we will check your responses to whether you would like your child to be considered for attendance from week beginning 1st June 2020.

We look forward to hearing from all of you as soon as possible

Kind regards

Ellen and Karen
