Stanford-Le-Hope Nursery – Autumn Walks
Posted October 15th, 2019
All the children as Goldcrest day nursery in Stanford-Le-Hope have been enjoying taking home these little brown bags and going on Autumn walks with their family collecting treasures to show and talk about to their friends. The children have enjoyed this and have shown lots of excitement and conversation around Autumn and the outdoors.
There are so many health benefits to walking, both physical and mental, and it is well known that even a gentle walk, can boost morale and lift self-esteem even at such a young age.
It also encourages development of gross motor skills and helps maintain good muscle strength. It gets the body moving and helps children to stay healthy, even if it doesn’t feel like exercise to them.
The walks are also helping the children to engage and learn about the world around them, and encouraging the to talk about different shapes, sizes, colours and textures etc.
