Dear Parents

Following our announcement that we will close our Nursery from Monday 23rd March 2020 in line with government guidance. We have since, been guided by Government and Local Authority Early Years and have made the decision to remain open to provide continued care for children of the ‘Key workers’ in our community.

If you feel that you are in the ‘Key worker’ group (list can be found on the government website), please contact the nursery as soon as possible and our Managers will arrange where possible the continuation of your child’s care during the outbreak of Coronavirus.

For those of you who do not fall into the category of ‘Key Workers’, we appreciate the current issues you face now that your child is not able to attend nursery and until the Government lift these guidance. Therefore we have made the decision to make a concession of 50% reduction of your child’s monthly invoice, albeit your contracts state we could charge full fees.

It is with determination and passion for the continuation of providing care for your children that we need to be able to keep your child’s place open and ready for when this nightmare is over, and we are all able to begin to return to some normality.

The only way we will be able to survive this is to work together, we have no choice but to ask that fees are paid whilst your child is not in attendance, as it will be vital for all of you to be able to return to normality and your workplace when we have been advised it is safe to do so. We have to ensure our staffing continues to be employed and have some income, therefore we are paying staff and trying to remain operational and we are hoping you will be able to understand the necessity of this.

We therefore feel that if we provide this concession at a 50% reduction for you, there will still be a functioning nursery setting, albeit this is a hardship for all of us, we hope you are able to understand the reasons for this and that these measures are to ensure we continue to run and operate post Coronavirus when the country/world returns to normality.

Working together in partnership with our parents is something we have historically been very fortunate to say is strong, of which we are very proud, if we all continue to work together we can guarantee you that when this is over, your child will have a place with us at Goldcrest.

We thank you for your co-operation in this difficult time and may you and all your families stay well.
